Pixie Interactive, a GameFi studio, has folded up. As per reports, this closure is due to debts related to taxes and cryptocurrency. The studio reportedly invested a massive amount of money in LUNO after investors fell through and were also saddled with an $800,000 tax bill that it was unable to pay. To stay afloat, Pixie Interactive launched the ill-fated NFTVault project but struggled to attract investments. In the last few weeks, rumours began to float about the company’s dire situation, which were eventually confirmed to be true.
Splinterlands Announces Epic New Tower Defense Spin Off Game
Following months of speculation and eons of subtle hints, Splinterlands has now revealed its eagerly awaited spin-off game. As a result, fans of the franchise can soon get down and dirty with the ‘Splinterlands Tower Defense (SPLTD)’ game. The platform will take its cues from the traditional tower defense genre, with players implementing a strategy before unleashing wave after wave of enemy hoards. However, unlike the usual fare, once the action has commenced, they can no longer influence the outcome. Instead, they rely on an auto-play feature coupled with a great deal of hope. Furthermore, at the end of each level, players can choose to bank their prizes or continue onward and risk everything.
Gala Games Launches Superior Alpha Playtest
Fans of Superior, a third-person shooting game, now have even more accessibility as it has announced its playtest. This playtest is available on Gala Games which means that anyone can download and play it, even without NFT access. The brainchild of Drifter Environment, Superior is based on the premise of superheroes who have been corrupted and turned into monsters. Acting as the protagonist of the story, users can hunt these monsters, defeat them, and steal their powers. The game’s setup is likely to be popular with fans and now that there is more access, even more, people can enjoy it.
Dogami Announces Testing for Tech Launch
Dogami, a pet-focused metaverse platform, has officially invited users to take part in testing sessions ahead of its tech launch. As per the Twitter thread, testing will begin on September 14, 2022, and there are 100 spots open for interested users. The goal of participating in this testing session will be to provide feedback to the Dogami developers before a wider release of the platform is initiated. To take part, Dogami explained that there are 50 slots that have been reserved for the “whales” in the ecosystem. The other 50 slots will be available for those who apply, though only Alpha Series 1 holders will be able to do so, from September 1, 2022. Among those who apply, only the most motivated and creative will be chosen to complete the testing. After the testing, they will be rewarded with an airdrop of $DOGA, the native token of the ecosystem, with a bonus potentially being given to top testers.
