Playgrid's NFT Weekly Update
Pixie Interactive Announces Closure
Pixie Interactive, a GameFi studio, has folded up. As per reports, this closure is due to debts related to taxes and cryptocurrency. The studio reportedly invested a massive amount of money in LUNO after investors fell through and were also saddled with an $800,000 tax bill that it was unable to pay. To stay afloat, Pixie Interactive launched the ill-fated NFTVault project but struggled to attract investments. In the last few weeks, rumours began to float about the company’s dire situation, which were eventually confirmed to be true.
Splinterlands Announces Epic New Tower Defense Spin Off Game
Following months of speculation and eons of subtle hints, Splinterlands has now revealed its eagerly awaited spin-off game. As a result, fans of the franchise can soon get down and dirty with the ‘Splinterlands Tower Defense (SPLTD)’ game. The platform will take its cues from the traditional tower defense genre, with players implementing a strategy before unleashing wave after wave of enemy hoards. However, unlike the usual fare, once the action has commenced, they can no longer influence the outcome. Instead, they rely on an auto-play feature coupled with a great deal of hope. Furthermore, at the end of each level, players can choose to bank their prizes or continue onward and risk everything.

Dogami Announces Testing for Tech Launch
Dogami, a pet-focused metaverse platform, has officially invited users to take part in testing sessions ahead of its tech launch. As per the Twitter thread, testing will begin on September 14, 2022, and there are 100 spots open for interested users. The goal of participating in this testing session will be to provide feedback to the Dogami developers before a wider release of the platform is initiated. To take part, Dogami explained that there are 50 slots that have been reserved for the “whales” in the ecosystem. The other 50 slots will be available for those who apply, though only Alpha Series 1 holders will be able to do so, from September 1, 2022. Among those who apply, only the most motivated and creative will be chosen to complete the testing.  After the testing, they will be rewarded with an airdrop of $DOGA, the native token of the ecosystem, with a bonus potentially being given to top testers.
Playgrid's Game of the Week
Phantom Galaxies Episode 4
The traditional 3D action RPGs (ARPG) are already familiar to millions of gamers, with the important difference that they will allow players to exercise governance and to have true ownership and control of their in-game assets (such as mechs, equipment, avatars, and game currency) thanks to the use of fungible and non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
Phantom Galaxies aims to be the leading multichain science-fiction mecha-shared world online ARPG. It will provide the most fully fleshed out PC and Console game experience that integrates blockchain in order to enable true game asset ownership and player-driven governance. Phantom Galaxies will be a full “AAA” game that will serve as a shining example of real in-game governance by players and token holders.
By supporting multiple crypto communities through a multichain framework, Phantom Galaxies will cater to millions of players and a variety of project collaborations in a single metaverse.
The game world of Phantom Galaxies will integrate with a variety of media channels for a full transmedia storytelling experience. Players will discover the story of Phantom Galaxies through gameplay, books, comics, anime, and NFT collectible merchandise.
In the latest episode, pressure mounts on the Rangers, as an all-out war threatens to consume the NCA. The Ensign must uncover the schemes of the Xanorra and Brooksea, and forge uneasy alliances of their own.

  • NFTs have opened the doors to virtual real estate. Decentraland is a digital world where users can purchase, build, and monetize virtual plots of land.
  • Rapper Snoop Dogg is not only a big crypto investor but also one of the NFTs’ biggest whales. Snoop reveals himself to be the collector “Cozomo de’ Medici”. His NFT wallet contains over $17 million worth of NFTs. The wallet contains Bored Apes, Cryptopunks, and hundreds of other NFTs.
  • While creating an NFT might sound daunting, it’s actually extremely easy. Typically referred to as “minting,” the easiest method is to use a platform such as OpenSea where the process is streamlined and intended for anyone to be able to use.
